Content Policy

Faroa turns a book you want to understand into an original learning path. This policy explains exactly how those paths are made, what we will and will not do with a book, and how we respect the authors and publishers whose ideas inspire them.

Original, AI-generated content

Every Faroa learning path is generated, not extracted. The concept titles, orienting definitions, prompts, and reflective questions are produced by a large language model and shaped by the focus you provide. The result is original work, co-created with AI. It is closer to a teacher writing their own lesson plan than to anything copied from a book.

Inspired by ideas, not reproductions

Copyright protects the specific expressionof a work (its sentences, its structure, its voice), not the underlying ideas. Faroa works with ideas. A learning path conveys abstract concepts associated with a book; it does not carry the book's prose, its anecdotes, or its narrative. The order of a path follows your goal, not the book's chapters.

That means a Faroa path is not a substitute for reading. If anything, it is an invitation. The best way to truly absorb a book is still to read it.

What we send to generate a path

When we ask an AI provider to build your path, we send only public, factual metadata and your own context:

  • Book title and author name: public record.
  • Genre and subject classification: factual, publicly indexed metadata.
  • Your stated focus: what you want to get from the book.
  • Concept titles we have already generated for you and this book: our own content, so a path stays coherent.

What we never do

This is the firewall at the heart of Faroa. We never:

  • Send, store, or process any text from the interior of a book: no chapters, paragraphs, sentences, or distinctive phrases.
  • Reproduce, summarise, or paraphrase a book’s content.
  • Attribute our generated content to an author as if it were their own words.
  • Present a learning path as a replacement for reading the book.

This is enforced in our architecture, not just our policy: the systems that build prompts have no access to book text at all.

How we describe learning paths

The words we use are deliberate. We describe a path as "inspired by" a book, or as "concepts from"the ideas around it. We avoid language that would suggest we are handing you the book's contents: phrasings like "summary of", "key ideas from", or "everything you need from" a book. If you ever see wording that implies Faroa reproduces or replaces a book, please tell us.

Respect for authors and publishers

Book titles, author names, and trademarks belong to their owners. Faroa is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any author or publisher. We name a book only to identify the ideas a path draws on. We believe engaging with ideas makes people more likely to buy and read the books behind them, and we want it to.

AI transparency

In line with the EU AI Act, we are clear that you are interacting with an AI system and that the learning paths you read are AI-generated. We label them as such so you always know where the content comes from.

Accuracy and your judgment

Generated content can be uneven, and it can be wrong. Treat a learning path as a thoughtful starting point, not a final authority, and not as professional advice. For the full disclaimer, see our Terms.

Reporting a concern

If you are an author, publisher, or reader and you have a concern about how a book is represented on Faroa, we want to hear it. Write to faroasupport@gmail.com and we will respond promptly.
